Paul R. Kach Essay Contest

The 2014 Paul R. Kach, 33o DeMolay Essay Competition is officially accepting applications! You can view and download the brochure for this competition and use it to spread the word! There are two categories for entrants; one for DeMolays who are in the 11th Grade and above, and one for those who are in the 10th Grade or below.

The prompt for this year's essay is Elevating BrotherhoodWrite an essay on the difference between being a friend and brother. Everyone can have a friend, but not everyone has someone who is brother. In DeMolay, we use the terms brother and brotherhood with meaning and emphasis. What does it mean to you? How does this apply to your own life and what is the value to you and others?

The Paul R. Kach Essay Competition awards $300 to each Region winner (2 winners from each of the 8 Regions) and $1,200 for the national winners (2 national winners). For the two national winners, their combined winnings are $1,500 each! Submit your 1000 to 1500 word long entry to your Executive Officer no later than February 1, 2014 for consideration for this competition.
