Region I Softball Tournament

On Saturday, September 20th, DeMolays from all over Region I traveled to Warwick, RI to participate in this year's Softball Tournament. You couldn't ask for better weather and shortly after 11am the first pitch was thrown. The first game had the teams from Connecticut and Massachusetts pitted against each other. After a long and hard fought battle, the team from CT came out on top, thanks to their high powered offense and top notch defense. Shortly thereafter, the team of Rhode Island/Benjamin Franklin Chapter went up against CT. Once again, CT came out on top. It was clear that the team from CT had come to play. After a short lunch break, MA and RI/BFD played very well, but in the end, RI/BFD came out on top. The championship game was finally upon us. RI/BFD reached out to the team from MA and asked if any of them would want to play with them in the championship game. Some agreed, the teams were ready to go and CT took the field to begin the game. The game got off to very fast start offensively for both teams but RI/BFD cooled off thanks to CT's defense. CT came out on top with the first place trophy. RI/BFD got second place and MA walked away with third. Also deserving of praise is Vermont DeMolay for bringing some DeMolays down which helped fill out the teams. Thank you to Dad Lawson for hosting us. Thank you to Dad Field, Dad O'Day for umpiring. Congratulations to everyone on a fantastic tournament.
